Kakobuy Links

Kakobuy Links: Give Every Saved URL a Product Identity

A working URL is not automatically the right URL.

The most useful way to manage Kakobuy links is to give every serious candidate a link fingerprint: enough information to prove what you intended to open even if the title, thumbnail or option selector changes later.

Record five things:

Source

W2C, Taobao, Weidian, 1688 or another live destination.

Product

short description you will recognize.

Identifier

product ID when visible.

Option

color, size, version or configuration you care about.

State

what you confirmed on the latest live check.

Example note:

Weidian · black zip hoodie · product ID saved · black / L · size chart and selected option visible

That note is far more useful than “good hoodie link.”

There are several failure modes:

Dead

The destination no longer loads or the product has been removed.

Replaced

The URL resolves but the seller now presents a different item.

Variant changed

The product remains, but your required size, color or version is gone.

Price context changed

The visible amount now belongs to another option or has changed materially.

Source context lost

A redirect works, but you can no longer tell which marketplace listing or seller the saved item came from.

The second and third failures are more dangerous than a simple 404 because the page still looks usable.

Kakobuy’s current purchase interface accepts product-link or product/search input, and its mobile interface exposes marketplace URL or keyword entry for Taobao, Tmall, 1688, JD and Weidian. That makes source preservation useful: when you keep the original route and product identity together, you have more than one way to recover a product if one intermediary link changes.

On this site, product discovery should still begin from W2C product/category pages. When a user is ready to continue, the live W2C page provides the current source or agent route available at that moment.

Taobao, Weidian and 1688 Are Different Contexts

Treating every marketplace URL as interchangeable loses useful information.

Taobao often presents consumer-retail listings with extensive variation structures. Weidian is common among independent storefronts and product-focused sellers. 1688 is supplier-oriented and may present tiered pricing, wholesale-style configuration or quantity logic.

The practical rule is not to memorize every marketplace feature. It is to retain enough source context to understand what the price and option selector mean on the current page.

The 90-Second Live Check

When you reopen a saved link, verify:

  1. Identity — title/image/product type still match.
  2. Option — required color/size/version still exists.
  3. Source — seller/marketplace route still makes sense.
  4. Price context — visible amount belongs to the option you are comparing.
  5. Evidence — measurements/specifications/photos you relied on are still present.

If one point fails, move the link into “needs review” rather than silently keeping it in the active shortlist.

Product IDs Are Recovery Tools

Product titles can change when a seller edits a listing or when the displayed translation changes.

A product ID can be more stable than the human-readable text around it. When the W2C page or source listing exposes a useful identifier, save it next to your description.

Do not treat the ID as proof that two pages are identical. Use it as a search handle when recovering a changed route.

Do Not Turn “Verified” Into a Permanent Badge

Link checking is time-bound.

A checked link is a snapshot, not a permanent guarantee. Reopen the live destination before relying on an older saved product, and be wary of any claim that a link is permanently "verified," always available or from a fully "trusted" seller — no single check can promise that continuously.

When a route fails:

  1. use the saved product ID;
  2. search the saved product description;
  3. search the seller/store if known;
  4. return to the relevant W2C category;
  5. compare replacement listings against the original option and dimensions;
  6. discard the route if you cannot establish that it still represents what you intended.

Do not “repair” a broken link by pointing it to the first visually similar product.

A compact saved record can contain:

  • title/description;
  • W2C URL;
  • marketplace/source URL;
  • product ID;
  • selected option;
  • target size/specification;
  • price seen on your check;
  • measurement link or chart reference;
  • reason saved;
  • unresolved question.

The unresolved question is especially useful. It tells you why the item is not yet ready to become an order.
